Adefemi Hospital Limited was founded by Dr. Adesola Taiwo in 1981.  The founder is a 1978 graduate of University of Ibadan with considerable experience in public service before venturing into private practice with the establishment of his eponymous hospital which operates as a limited liability company.  He is also one of the Certified Members of the Nigeria Medical Association.

 

The hospital is still currently managed by the founder, operating from a purpose built 3(three) storey building with a 2(two) storey building annex.

Adefemi Hospital Limited is located in Lagos Metropolis at No 49, Seriki-Aro Avenue, Ikeja Local Government Area, Lagos.  A mixed residential and industrial neighbourhood largely populated by low to medium income earners.  The hospital is a registered limited liability company.  It operates as a district hospital with 70 full time staff, 16 part time staff, 6 full time General Medical Practitioners, Consultants in all cadre of medical practice viz; General surgery, Medicine, O&G, Ophthalmologist, Dentist and Orthopaedics, 18 registered nurses, 21 nursing assistants. It has 3 laboratory staff, 4 pharmacy staff(1 pharmacist included), 10 Administrative Staff, 5 cleaners, 4 security officers, 2 drivers and 9 other utility staff.

The hospital operates from 2 purpose built 3 storey building with 49 beds made up of 4 private rooms,3 double bedded rooms and 10 general wards with an occupancy rate of 22.44% - 32%.  It has reception,3 consulting rooms, pharmacy, Administrative Office, a modern operating theatre as well as a delivery room.

 

The second 3(three) storey building has a capacity of 52 beds if the need arises.

SERVICES DELIVERED:

The hospital attends to about 18,000 patients per year and performs an average of 15 minor surgical procedures and 9 major surgeries per month.  The hospital offers general primary care, health assessments and reproductive and child health services.  It also has part-time specialists who render paediatrician, obstetrics, and gynaecology, general surgical, orthopaedic surgical and internal medicine services to patients.  Malaria, typhoid, gastro enteritis, respiratory tract infection, hypertension and diabetics are the most treated diagnosis in the hospital.

QUALITY:

​

The hospital renders 24 hour / round the clock service, with well kept and maintained environment and distinguished structure.  However, hand washing / disinfectant facilities are installed at all relevant areas.  Waste is segregated into biological and general with adequate sharp containers.  Waste is evacuated regularly by the Medical Service of Lagos Waste Management Authority.

Drugs are sourced from accredited dealers with emphasis on NAFDAC certificate. 
The laboratory is staffed by a qualified laboratory technologist.  The facility has adequate and well maintained equipment as well as functional fire extinguishers.

The clinical Staff is suitably qualified and regularly attends continuously medical education forums in addition to participation in internal organised trainings.

The facility is fully accredited by NHIS and Lagos State Ministry of Health.
